Leland
B. Goldberg’s
experience with media includes Consultant to a
Lender with a $65 million loan to a broadcasting
chain of AM / FM combo Spanish radio stations in
Los
Angeles, California, NYC and Miami, Florida.
The stations were under-performing in the NYC
and Miami markets, and lacked sufficient tower
signal strength to cover the Hispanic
market in Los Angeles, requiring a repositioning
of its broadcasting tower. The broadcasting
chain also had significant cash flow
deficiencies in relation to the outstanding
debt. Subsequently the Company requested and
Goldberg then accepted the assignment of
assisting the broadcasting chain with a
restructuring of its business plan and a
restructuring of its debt.
Other
consulting assignments include:
Consultant
to a chain of radio stations in Pennsylvania,
upstate New York and Massachusetts owned by a
Massachusetts based company. The assignment
included teaching the borrower to manage its
cash flow, restructure its balance sheet and
renegotiate its debt facilities with its Lender.
Consultant
to a radio station in North Carolina, preparing
a detailed cash flow plan, and assisting in
development of the station’s business plan,
resulting in the station’s refinancing.
Consultant
to C2 Media, a $40M print media company. The
company, which was recently sold in a Section
363 sale, is a digital printer for both small
format and large format printing and silk
screening with seven locations in the US and
Canada.
Consultant
to a Florida based $80M print media company.
The Company prints magazines
and other
consumer publications and also has
a
second large print facility in Ohio. Currently
Goldberg is in the process of reviewing and
vetting the company’s 2010 business plan. The
lender is Wells Fargo Capital Finance in NYC.
Consultant
to Martin Group, Inc., located in South Dakota
and Colorado. The company is a CLEC
(Competitive Local Exchange Carrier). It
provides telecommunications, consulting and
engineering services and develops, markets and
sells customer care and billing solutions to
communications carriers in the United States.
It is owned by the TA Associates and Summit
Partners private equity firms. Goldberg
analyzed and recommended restructuring
strategies to the Board of Directors.
