Bill
Sharp
William “Bill” Sharp brings over 30 years experience
in senior management positions to Prolman
Associates. Over the past 20 years, he has
concentrated extensively in the areas of crisis
management and corporate turnarounds, assisting
companies with financial, organizational and
operational difficulties acting in the capacity of
Interim President, General Manager or Chief
Financial Officer. Sharp’s experience includes
Corporate Operational Troubleshooter for
International Telephone & Telegraph (ITT), a
multi-billion
dollar company. Additionally, he has held positions
such as President, Chief Operating Officer, Chief
Financial Officer, Vice President of Finance, and
Systems Design and Implementation Coordinator for
various companies including Avicom International,
subsequently Hughes-Avicom International, now
Rockwell Collins Passenger Systems. Other clients
have included Hoffman Bros. Packing Co., Becton
Dickinson, Gulf & Western and Amdahl Corp.
Having assisted in many different types of
companies, Sharp is familiar with the management,
operations, financing and accounting practices of
businesses in such diverse areas as medical
products, electronics, aerospace, computer hardware
and software, food processing, microwave components,
telecommunications, precision machining, video
post-production, household furniture, wire and
cable, digital medical imaging equipment, home
products and fixtures, exposition equipment rental
and operations, automotive internet advertising and
marketing, industry seminar training, restaurant
franchises and chain retail operations. These
businesses have ranged in size from start-up
ventures to mature billion dollar industries. Many
of these businesses have been extensively involved
in government contracting.
Sharp focuses on concrete objectives that improve
the company’s profitability and liquidity, and when
appropriate, positions it for recapitalization or
sale. He is an expert at developing and
implementing short- and long-range business plans;
cash management and financial reporting systems;
budgeting and forecasting models; and material
requirement planning and cost accounting systems for
commercial manufacturers as well as Department of
Defense contractors. Sharp has developed a
forecasting system titled “Virtual Reality Planning”
that provides management with current up-to-date
actual financial information while projecting and
tracking operating results into the future based on
“Business Operating Drivers” unique to each
operating company. Sharp is also experienced in
developing and implementing Chapter 11
reorganization plans.
Sharp received an MBA in Finance from New York
University and a BSBA. in Accounting from St. John’s
University.
