Cathryn Low
Cathryn Low brings over 20 years of experience in financial and operations
management, consulting, and public auditing to Prolman Associates. Ms. Low
is an expert in the implementation of corrective measures to restore and
increase profitability, organizational cohesiveness, and motivation of
employees to participate in achieving corporate goals. Ms. Low has served
as the Chief Restructuring
Officer, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, or Senior Vice
President of Operations on numerous occasions for her clients.
Working exclusively with troubled businesses since 1987, Low has provided
distressed businesses the managerial direction necessary to ensure the
restoration of operational equilibrium and long-term success. Low has
provided crisis management and interim executive management services both
within or outside of Chapter 11 filings and implemented the strategies
required to enable businesses in either situation to achieve successful
restructuring.
Low
has successfully defined the appropriate management structure, allocation of
responsibilities and channels of communication to focus collective attention
on key elements of the business plans of her clients. Low has provided
training for company managers in business principles and procedures to allow
them to effectively manage and contribute to the success of their business.
Additionally, to allow management to address critical performance issues on
a timely basis, Low has developed and customized appropriate operational
reporting systems and trained company personnel to fully utilize such tools.
Low’s
past assignments include companies with annual sales in excess of $400
million. She is experienced in several industries including, but not
limited to, manufacturing, restaurants, healthcare, retail, banking, real
estate, transportation and technology. Within these industries, she has held
several senior financial and operational management positions, including
offshore assignments. Furthermore, Low served as Interim CFO for SeraCare
Life Science, Inc.; Turnaround CEO of Colts Manufacturing, Inc.;
CRO of Betta Products, Inc.; and CRO of
Action Auto. Additionally, Low has been Senior Vice President and
CFO of a regional bank and a CPA with PriceWaterhouse (now
PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP) in Boston and London.
In
addition to her executive management services, Low has offered lectures to
various professional organizations including the American Bankers
Association and the A.I.C.P.A. She has given training seminars to financial
institutions on loan workouts and managing asset recovery and she has
lectured at the Bank of England on foreign exchange trading controls.
Low received a B.A.
from Mount Holyoke College and an M.B.A. in accounting and finance from
Columbia University.
