Cathryn Low

Cathryn Low brings over 20 years of experience in financial and operations management, consulting, and public auditing to Prolman Associates.  Ms. Low is an expert in the implementation of corrective measures to restore and increase profitability, organizational cohesiveness, and motivation of employees to participate in achieving corporate goals.  Ms. Low has served as the Chief Restructuring Officer, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, or Senior Vice President of Operations on numerous occasions for her clients.

Working exclusively with troubled businesses since 1987, Low has provided distressed businesses the managerial direction necessary to ensure the restoration of operational equilibrium and long-term success.  Low has provided crisis management and interim executive management services both within or outside of Chapter 11 filings and implemented the strategies required to enable businesses in either situation to achieve successful restructuring.

Low has successfully defined the appropriate management structure, allocation of responsibilities and channels of communication to focus collective attention on key elements of the business plans of her clients.  Low has provided training for company managers in business principles and procedures to allow them to effectively manage and contribute to the success of their business.  Additionally, to allow management to address critical performance issues on a timely basis, Low has developed and customized appropriate operational reporting systems and trained company personnel to fully utilize such tools.

Low’s past assignments include companies with annual sales in excess of $400 million.  She is experienced in several industries including, but not limited to, manufacturing, restaurants, healthcare, retail, banking, real estate, transportation and technology. Within these industries, she has held several senior financial and operational management positions, including offshore assignments.  Furthermore, Low served as Interim CFO for SeraCare Life Science, Inc.; Turnaround CEO of Colts Manufacturing, Inc.; CRO of Betta Products, Inc.; and CRO of Action Auto.  Additionally, Low has been Senior Vice President and CFO of a regional bank and a CPA with PriceWaterhouse (now PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP) in Boston and London.

In addition to her executive management services, Low has offered lectures to various professional organizations including the American Bankers Association and the A.I.C.P.A.  She has given training seminars to financial institutions on loan workouts and managing asset recovery and she has lectured at the Bank of England on foreign exchange trading controls.
